I'm incredibly proud to announce that my design won the World Accreditation Day (WAD) Global Poster Contest, beating out 64 entries from designers worldwide!
This makes me the first African to ever win this prestigious global award. My design was chosen as the official artwork to represent the celebration of World Accreditation Day globally, highlighting this year's theme focused on the empowerment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The Inspiration: Quality as a Foundation
My design was deeply inspired by nature, driven by the principle that a solid foundation births great results. We see this everywhere: the earth provides the origin for buildings, tools, food, and life itself.
When approaching the WAD theme about empowering SMEs, I drew a parallel:
"I thought of how small seeds planted in fertile soil grow into strong trees, bearing fruit that nourishes the environment. Similarly, enterprises founded on quality can grow into something extraordinary, yielding results that benefit all of humanity."
Illustrating the Theme
My goal was to visually communicate this growth and the positive impact of quality:
The Foundation: The platform supporting the design is branded with the accreditation symbol, representing the crucial foundation of quality for all enterprises.
The Growth: The design depicts a microcosm of SMEs growing into a big tree.
The Results: This tree bears fruits that are icons of various industries, symbolizing the positive and beneficial outcomes that result when enterprises embrace accreditation and quality.
It was an honor to have this work celebrated globally and to contribute a design that visually champions the power of quality in business.
